BREAKING NEWS: MLB announced this afternoon that three Giants will join starting catcher Buster Posey (.304, 14 HRs, 57 RBIs) in Cincinnati to represent the National League in the 2015 All-Star game.
Buster received the most votes to get the start behind the plate, while Brandon Crawford (.265, 12 HRs, 49 RBIs) and Joe Panik (.304, 6 HRs, 30 RBIs), the league’s youngest and most exciting double play duo, were added today, along with Madison Bumgarner (8-5, 3.34).
This will be MadBum’s third selection at the young age of 25, and there’s a good chance that NL Manager Bruce Bochy might choose MadBum to start the game, as he would be working on three days’ rest.
Crawford becomes the first Giants’ shortstop to be chosen for the Mid-Summer Classic since Rich Aurilia in 2001.
Panik makes the All-Star team in his first full season in the Majors and like Crawford, is one of the league’s up and coming stars, getting it done with the bat and in the field.
